President Cyril Ramaphosa
President Cyril Ramaphosa will know on Friday whether his urgent bid to pause Parliament's impeachment committee has succeeded.
The Western Cape High Court will hand down judgment at 10am on Friday in the president's application to interdict the Section 89 committee probing the Phala Phala scandal.
The urgent application was heard on Wednesday and Thursday last week by a full bench comprising Judges André le Grange, Matthew Francis and Diane Davis, who reserved judgment.
Ramaphosa wants the committee's work suspended pending his separate review of the Section 89 independent panel report, arguing that the process could cause him irreparable harm while that challenge is pending.
