In the first 10 days of July, air traffic reached particularly high levels, with Aegean Airlines registering an all-time high in daily flights to rank among the 20 busiest airlines in Europe.
According to Eurocontrol figures, the average daily number of flights in Greece stood at 2,700 during the first days of July, registering a 3% increase compared to the same period last year.
This has kept the country in seventh place among Europe’s busiest aviation markets.
The increase was fueled both by the strengthening of the domestic traffic of Aegean, Volotea and Wizz Air and by the increase in flights to and from Italy.
