The murder case of Durban businessman Shailen Singh is expected to begin on Monday at the Durban High Court.
A grieving father of Durban businessman Shailen Singh, who was allegedly gunned down by security boss Ferrel Govender and his brother Darren, said he hopes his son’s murder trial will finally begin at the Durban High Court on Monday.
The Govender brothers are accused of murdering Singh in December 2024 on Meridian Drive in Umhlanga. The State alleges they killed him after Ferrel discovered that Singh was having an affair with his girlfriend, Salona Ramrutton/Kisten.
Pradeep Singh, the deceased’s father, said no one has the right to take another person’s life, regardless of the circumstances.
He said his family was hoping the trial would finally get under way so that Singh’s story could be heard.
