Shailen Singh's father expressed hope for justice as the murder trial against security boss Ferrel Govender and his brother begins at the Durban High Court on Monday.
The Govender brothers are accused of murdering Singh in December 2024 on Meridian Drive in Umhlanga. The State alleged they killed him after Ferrel discovered that Singh was having an affair with his girlfriend, Salona Ramrutton/Kisten.
Pradeep Singh, the deceased’s father, said no one had the right to take another person’s life, regardless of the circumstances.
He said his family hoped the trial would finally get under way so that Singh’s story could be heard.
