KwaZulu-Natal Legislature Speaker Nontembeko Boyce welcoming the ANC's new Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL) Zinhle Cele who replaces Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba who died in a jogging incident earlier this month.
The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal has welcomed the deployment of Provincial Task Team (PTT) member Zinhle Cele to the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature, describing her appointment as a reflection of the party's confidence in experienced and capable leaders.
Cele fills the vacancy left by the late Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba, whose death earlier this month created an opening in the provincial legislature.
In a statement on Friday, ANC KwaZulu-Natal spokesperson Sifiso Sonjica said Cele's appointment forms part of the party's ongoing renewal programme and its efforts to strengthen governance through the deployment of experienced cadres.
Sonjica said Cele previously served as a Member of the Provincial Legislature during the Sixth Administration and had built extensive legislative, political and organisational experience.
