Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba, an ANC activist and former MEC, will be buried in Nquthu on Saturday in an official provincial funeral.
Former KwaZulu-Natal MEC Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba, who died after being hit by a car while jogging in his hometown of Newcastle on Sunday, will receive an official provincial funeral, said Premier Thami Ntuli’s spokesperson, Lindelani Mbatha.
Mbatha said President Cyril Ramaphosa authorised that Mahlaba be granted a provincial government funeral.
“It is an official provincial funeral.”
He said Mahlaba was granted a special funeral because he was an MPL and chairperson of the legislature portfolio committees’ chairpersons.
