The Komala Party of Toilers of Iranian Kurdistan has issued a statement announcing that nine of its Peshmerga fighters were killed during Friday morning’s missile strikes on its bases and camps surrounding Zargwezela.
According to the statement, the attack occurred at around 6:00 AM and directly targeted Komala’s bases and installations. The party identified the deceased as Farhad Ghamari, Soroush Nasri, Sina Safari, Yasin Kianpour, Ahmad Mahmoudi, Reza Sadeghi, Kasra Rahmannezhad, Sayvan Nikikhah, and Zakaria Faghih Hassan-Agha.
Komala further disclosed that, since the outbreak of clashes 39 days ago, its positions have been targeted by the Islamic Republic approximately 40 times using missiles and drones.
The statement follows Friday morning’s bombardment, which struck the Komala Party’s camp in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq amid a fresh round of coordinated missile and drone operations launched by the Islamic Republic across the region. Earlier, a member of the Komala leadership told IranWire that the scale of the strikes was “highly intense” and that assessments of the damage and casualties were ongoing.
