UKZN's Andiswa Mbanjwa selected for South Africa's Commonwealth Kho Kho squad

For Andiswa Mbanjwa, missing out on South Africa's Commonwealth Kho Kho squad last year could have marked the end of a dream. Instead, it became the motivation she needed to work even harder.

Now, the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) student is preparing to wear the green and gold after earning selection to represent South Africa at the Commonwealth Kho Kho Championships in India from October 6 to 13.

The tournament will bring together teams from more than 24 countries, with South Africa aiming to improve on the bronze medal it secured at last year's championships.

"I failed to qualify for the South African team in 2025, but I'm so happy that my determination, hard work and perseverance paid off this year, granting me an opportunity to represent my country with pride," Mbanjwa said.
