The Sibaya Community Trust in Durban has undertaken three infrastructure projects to take meaningful steps to positively impact their communities on Mandela Day.
Mandela Day is an annual global celebration on July 18 to honour the life and legacy of the late former president Nelson Mandela. The South African Government said it is a call to action for individuals, communities, and organisations to reflect on Mandela’s values and principles.
Mandela, addressing the scourge of poverty, suffering, and deprivation, said: “It is in your hands to make our world a better one for all, especially the poor, vulnerable, and marginalised.”
The theme for 2026 is: “It is in your hands.”
