In a heartfelt ceremony marking a significant development for pupils with disabilities, the Sibaya Community Trust officially handed over two newly constructed ablution blocks - separate facilities for male and female pupils - at the West Park Special Needs School.
Vivian Reddy, the founder and chairman of the trust, said every child, regardless of their physical, intellectual, or developmental challenges, deserved access to facilities that are safe, accessible, comfortable, and respectful of their needs.
Reddy labelled the initiative a “humanitarian project,” emphasising the importance of basic human dignity in school environments.
For many children attending West Park, something as fundamental as accessing a restroom posed difficulties that could be uncomfortable and undignified.
