In a shocking incident, police are investigating a shooting in Steenberg Park that left a four-year-old and three others injured during a memorial service.
A four-year-old was among four people who were shot during a memorial service on an open field in Retreat on Wednesday evening.
The toddler is one of three people who were wounded - the others aged 18 and 40, while a 24-year-old was shot dead.
According to police, residents were packing up and preparing to leave when a white Mercedes-Benz drove by and stopped, with five suspects then getting out and opening fire.
Police spokesperson, Ndakhe Gwala, said: “Steenberg police registered a case of murder and three counts of attempted murder, following a shooting that occurred at Beethoven Street, Cafda, Retreat on Wednesday at about 8:40pm.
