Kraaifontein police were called to the crime scene in Wallacedene where they found the victims with gunshot wounds to their bodies.
A five-year-old child is lucky to be alive after being shot and wounded in a mass shooting which left one person dead on Wednesday night in Kraaifontein.
The shooting took place in Mfeketho Street, Wallacedene, at around 7.35pm when gunmen opened fire on the victims, fatally wounding a 50-year-old man and leaving three others, between the ages of five and 30 years, wounded before fleeing the scene.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that the matter is under investigation.
“The circumstances surrounding a shooting incident on Wednesday evening, May 20, 2026, at about 7.35pm, in Mfeketho Street, Wallacedene, where a 50-year-old male was shot and fatally wounded, and a 30-year-old male, a 25-year-old female, and a five-year-old child wounded, are under investigation, Twigg said.
