The Nigerian Navy, through the Naval Outpost Onitsha, has handed over a 44-year-old suspected drug trafficker to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Onitsha Area Command, following his arrest during a security operation in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The suspect, identified as Chukwu Obas, was formally transferred to the NDLEA by the Commanding Officer of Naval Outpost, Onitsha, Commander Kabir Yusuf, during a handover ceremony held at the administrative block of the naval outpost.
According to the Navy’s handover report, made available to journalists on Thursday, Obas, an indigene of Orsumoghu Community in Ihiala Local Government Area, was apprehended on July 15, 2026, during a routine stop-and-search operation at Uga Junction in Ogbaru LG.
The report read, “A 44-year-old suspected drug trafficker has been apprehended during a security operation in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State. He was subsequently handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Onitsha Area Command.
