The operation followed credible intelligence on the activities of suspected drug dealers operating from a hideout in Obosi.

The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two suspected illicit drug dealers and recovered substances suspected to be Cannabis sativa, methamphetamine, and other hard drugs valued at ₦6.2 million in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

The police also recovered ₦598,400 in cash during the operation, which was carried out in the early hours of Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

The operation followed credible intelligence on the activities of suspected drug dealers operating from a hideout in Obosi.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, stormed the suspected criminal hideout and arrested two male suspects identified as 47-year-old Nzube Onyedikachukwu, also known as “Onyeoma,” and 20-year-old Ugochukwu Azia.
