Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspects for alleged involvement in illicit drug peddling in the Nkanu East Local Government Area of the state.
The command also recovered a large quantity of substances suspected to be variants of Cannabis sativa, popularly known as Indian hemp, during separate intelligence-led operations.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, confirmed the arrest in a statement made available to The PUNCH on Friday.
According to Ndukwe, the operations were part of the command’s sustained proactive policing and crackdown on criminal activities across the state.
