The Anambra State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested 559 suspected drug offenders and rehabilitated 102 drug users in the last 11 months as part of efforts to combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the state.

The State Commander of NDLEA, Charles Onubogu, disclosed this while briefing journalists at the agency’s headquarters in Awka.

According to him, the suspects comprised 475 males and 84 females, while the drugs involved were mainly cocaine and cannabis.

Onubogu said 102 drug users, including three females, were treated and rehabilitated during the period under review.
