The haul | Anambra State Police Command
The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old suspected drug dealer, identified as Chinedu Nwankwo, and recovered a large quantity of suspected Cannabis Sativa, Methamphetamine and Colorado (Colos), estimated at ₦5.8m.
According to a press statement issued on Saturday, the spokesperson for the police command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the suspect was arrested by operatives of the Rapid Response Team during an intelligence-driven patrol operation along the Nteje-Otuocha Road, Anambra East Local Government Area.
Ikenga said the suspect was allegedly conveying the substances to Otuocha, Anyamelium, Nzam, Umuleri and Aguleri areas for delivery to suspected criminal elements.
He added that investigators were also examining the alleged connection of the consignments with activities capable of disrupting the ongoing local government elections in the state.
