A family at the centre of a trespassing complaint and a formal inquiry by police after they were removed from Pagasvlei Farm in Constantia have defended their presence on the property, claiming generational ties dating back to the 1950s.
The family of 25, including five minors, were evicted from the property located at 2133 Pagasvlei Farm, Constantia on July 11, after police visited the premises, asking for proof of ownership.
Police spokesperson, Ndakhe Gwala, said the complainant (the owners) had decided not to pursue a criminal case against the family who set up camp, and subsequently, no arrests were made.
"Diepriver police attended a complaint of trespassing at Pagasvlei Farm, Constantia,” said Gwala.
