An Australian-British couple who have been living in woods in Abruzzo are to appeal against their three children being taken away from them and placed in a foster home, citing "falsehoods" on their schooling in the ruling, their lawyer said Friday.

Australian Catherine Birminghan and her British husband Nathan Trevallion have been rasing the kids in a shack in the woods without electricity or running water.

The court order to take the children away from the couple said that there is no risk of violating the minors' right to education, but there is a risk of violating their right to social life, as sanctioned by Article 2 of the Italian Constitution, which "can cause serious psychological and educational consequences for the minor." But lawyer Giovanni Angellucci insisted that Thursday's sentence by a L'Aquila minors' court incorrectly focused on their education.

"Yesterday's ruling contained falsehoods.

Provisions are not commented on, but challenged, and that's why we will appeal.
