Athens International Airport has received another significant international distinction from the Air Transport Research Society (ATRS), one of the world’s leading organizations for research and benchmarking in the aviation sector.
ATRS awarded AIA the 2026 Europe Airport Efficiency Excellence prize in the category of airports handling more than 30 million passengers annually. The distinction is based on the organization’s Global Annual Benchmarking Report, an international assessment covering nearly 200 commercial airports worldwide.
