Mpofu: Ramaphosa fears embarrassment over Phala Phala, not justice

The people of SA, not President Cyril Ramaphosa, are the true victims of the Phala Phala scandal, and Parliament is their only tool to get answers.

This was the argument of Advocate Dali Mpofu SC, for the MK Party, as he tore into Ramaphosa's case in the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday.

Mpofu said the only harm the president had pleaded in his bid to stop Parliament's impeachment inquiry was the humiliation of being held to account.

"He comes here and he says, well, I cannot be put through the humiliation of accountability," Mpofu said.
