Hot weather is set to return to Bulgaria this week, with temperatures expected to climb as high as 38 degrees Celsius in some areas. After a brief period of cooler conditions, sunny and dry weather will gradually dominate, bringing above-average temperatures for this time of year.
Today, the country will see partly cloudy skies, with clouds more noticeable in eastern regions, while western areas will experience gradual clearing. Short-lived rain showers are possible in some places, mainly during the afternoon hours in eastern Bulgaria and along the Black Sea coast, where conditions will be more favorable for local storms.
Daytime temperatures will remain between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius, reaching around 25 degrees in Sofia. A light to moderate north-northwestern wind will continue to blow, becoming weaker and disappearing in western parts of the country by the evening.
Some isolated showers may continue until midnight in the far eastern areas, but they will gradually fade away. Clear and mostly calm weather will settle across the country overnight, with minimum temperatures ranging between 12 and 17 degrees.
On the following day, sunny weather will take over, and temperatures will rise significantly. Maximum values will reach 30 to 35-36 degrees Celsius, with slightly cooler conditions expected in some eastern areas and along the Black Sea coast. Winds will remain light from the north-northwest.
