A 30-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman have been charged by the Stara Zagora District Prosecutor's Office over the alleged kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, and trafficking of a 20-year-old woman for sexual exploitation. Prosecutors have also accused the man of causing moderate bodily injury after the victim reportedly suffered a broken right arm during the ordeal.
According to the investigation, the crimes took place between February 7 and 14 in Pazardzhik, Sofia, and Stara Zagora. Investigators believe the young woman was abducted while walking along a road near Pazardzhik on February 7, when the two suspects allegedly forced her into a vehicle against her will.
Authorities say she was first taken to Sofia before being transported to Stara Zagora, where she was allegedly forced to provide sexual services for payment. Prosecutors claim she was repeatedly driven to different client addresses while being held against her will.
The victim reportedly made repeated attempts to regain her freedom, but investigators say the suspects refused to release her. Instead, she was allegedly subjected to continuous violence, tied up with cables, locked inside premises, and beaten. During one assault, she sustained a fractured right arm, an injury prosecutors classify as moderate bodily harm.
