Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, the Chief Justice of the Islamic Republic, emphasized the need to publicize the judiciary’s performance, stating that the public must know “what great things” the judicial branch has accomplished. He also warned that if anyone within the government or judicial apparatus delays resolving the people’s affairs, it is “unforgivable.”
Speaking on Monday, July 13, during a meeting of the Supreme Judicial Council, Mohseni-Ejei said that officials are expected to properly explain the judiciary’s performance to the public so that citizens become fully aware of the institution’s capabilities, limitations, and actions.
The Chief Justice identified the fight against corruption as a top priority for the judiciary, declaring that corrupt individuals will “without a doubt” be tried and punished in accordance with the law. At the same time, he emphasized that preventing corruption and eliminating systemic loopholes are more important than confronting violations after they occur.
Mohseni-Ejei also characterized the public’s presence at Ali Khamenei’s funeral procession as a “renewed allegiance” to the leader of the Islamic Republic, claiming that the turnout served as an antidote that neutralized the actions of the regime’s opponents.
