Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei, Head of the Judiciary of the Islamic Republic, stated that if there is neglect in securing the rights of “the oppressed from the oppressor,” conscience is the first thing that will condemn those responsible.
Speaking on Monday, August 31, Mohseni-Ejei remarked: “If we neglect to take the rights of the oppressed from the oppressor, our own conscience will be the first to condemn us.” Pointing to the expansion of electronic capabilities within the judicial system, he added that while pursuing cases in underprivileged regions was previously difficult, electronic proceedings and notifications can now resolve some of these limitations.
In another part of his speech, the Chief Justice labeled the United States “the world’s largest state terrorist” and “the largest sponsor of terrorism globally,” asserting that Islamic Republic officials remain “of one voice” against the US and will not back down.
He also threatened that the “children of Islamic Iran” would avenge those killed in Iran and across what he termed the “lands of resistance,” adding that the Islamic Republic “will not put down the banner of blood revenge.”
Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei further threatened protesters with a response “more decisive” than in previous periods, stating: “The Islamic Republic is more prepared than ever. If they want to cause unrest inside the country again, our response will be more decisive than in all previous periods.”
