Ali Asghar Ahmadpanah, a 19-year-old citizen from Bijar residing in Tehran, was detained approximately two weeks ago after responding to a summons from a branch of the Tehran Revolutionary Court. He has been transferred to the Greater Tehran Central Penitentiary (Fashafuyeh). According to human rights sources, the exact grounds for his arrest have not yet been disclosed.
According to a report by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ahmadpanah was detained on Saturday, June 27, after presenting himself to the judicial authorities and has now been held in the Greater Tehran Central Penitentiary for 15 days.
The report highlights that Ahmadpanah suffers from a severe seizure disorder and requires consistent access to specialized medication to maintain his health. Given that he was deprived of medication during his previous detention, coupled with the substandard sanitary and medical conditions at the Greater Tehran Central Penitentiary, his family and relatives have expressed deep concern over the risk of recurring seizures and the potential threat to his life.
Ahmadpanah was previously arrested by government forces in Tehran on January 8 during the January protests. According to Hengaw, he was held for approximately three months, during which he was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture in security detention centers. He was ultimately released temporarily after posting bail of 3 billion tomans.
