According to information obtained by IranWire, Hossein Alizadeh, a protester previously active during the December 2025 demonstrations, was arrested in front of his home in Islamshahr on July 4. He has been transferred to an undisclosed location.
Alizadeh, a 38-year-old surveying engineer, has only been permitted a single, brief phone call to his family since his detention. During the call, he managed to confirm his arrest, but both the detaining agency and his current place of detention remain entirely unknown.
The Islamshahr resident has faced prior state persecution. He was previously arrested during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising and again following the December 2025 protests, facing security charges such as “spreading falsehoods,” “assembly and collusion,” and “propaganda against the regime.”
It remains unclear whether his recent arrest is connected to his previous legal cases or stems from new accusations.
With several detainees being held for extended periods in undisclosed facilities, accurate reporting on individuals who are missing or being held incommunicado is critical. IranWire’s legal experts urge anyone reporting on detainees to document the precise time of arrest, the date of the last phone call, and the status of family notification, while strictly avoiding the dissemination of unverified information.
