Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that an inquest docket had been opened after the body of Bafana Bafana star Jayden Adams.
Condolences have poured in worldwide for two young sports stars: Jayden Adams, midfielder for Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns, and Luqobo Makwedini, a former South African Rugby Under-18 prop.
The 20-year-old Makwedini, known as Bibo, tragically collapsed during a training session with French club AS Béziers Hérault on Friday and later died in hospital.
The exact details surrounding Adams' death remain unconfirmed.
SAPS spokesperson FC Van Wyk said: “Cape Town Central police registered an inquest for investigation following the discovery of the body of a 25-year-old male on Saturday, 11 July at 11:06 at a premises in Military Road, Scotscheskloof. Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation.”
