Authorities have impounded and destroyed more than two tons of dairy products transported from Bulgaria without refrigeration.

Staff of the Financial Transactions Inspection Forces division of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR) stopped a van, with foreign license plates, on a highway near the northeastern city of Komotini, near the border with Bulgaria. The van was also severely overloaded.

After finding the dairy products, chiefly milk, were transported unrefrigerated, they tested them; they were deemed highly dangerous to public health and destroyed.
