Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the 2010 arson attack on a Marfin Bank branch in central Athens that killed three employees, authorities said Friday.

A third person is also facing charges in the case, and an arrest warrant has been issued, according to police sources.

The arrests follow a yearlong investigation during which authorities collected additional evidence that was included in an analysis report by the Hellenic Police (ELAS), the sources said.

The suspects are reportedly known to authorities.

The Marfin Bank fire broke out on May 5, 2010, during mass protests against Greece’s austerity measures. Three employees, including a pregnant woman, died after attackers firebombed the bank branch on Stadiou Street.
