Two men arrested on suspicion of torching an Athens bank branch during a mass anti-austerity march 16 years ago, leading to the deaths of three office workers, were led to the main Athens court complex Friday.

The suspects are expected to face murder charges after their arrests early Friday in Athens. Authorities have issued a warrant for a third suspect believed to have had a secondary role in the attack. The 46-year-old woman is thought to have lived for years in the United Kingdom.

The two 42-year-old men, who are believed to be linked with violent anarchist groups, were given until Tuesday to prepare their testimony.

Police are believed to have identified the three by re-examining old imagery related to the May 5, 2010 attack at a Marfin Bank branch on central Stadiou Street, as tens of thousands marched to protest planned new income cuts and tax hikes demanded by Greece’s bailout creditors.

Three bank employees, including a pregnant woman, were killed in one of the darkest incidents of the country’s nearly ten-year financial crisis.
