Tributes have poured in for 19-year-old cancer fighter Creashy Maart, whose courage and resilience touched thousands of South Africans during her battle with illness.

The Weekend Argus reports that Maart died in the early hours of Thursday morning after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Her death was confirmed by Kids Can Cancer Foundation founder Kaashief Lakay, who said Maart had passed away peacefully.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the heartbreaking news that our beautiful fighter, Creashy Maart, passed away peacefully just a few minutes ago,” Lakay said.
