Preparations for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest are already gaining momentum following Bulgaria's historic first victory in the competition, with Eurovision Director Martin Green expressing confidence that next year's edition will stand out as something exceptional.
In an interview with the American entertainment publication Variety, Green said Bulgaria's debut as Eurovision host is expected to be "very special," emphasizing that organizers are working closely with a dedicated Bulgarian team to ensure the event leaves a lasting impression on audiences around the world.
According to Green, the fact that Eurovision has never before been staged in Bulgaria creates a unique opportunity to present the country to millions of viewers from a fresh perspective. He noted that countless fans who have never visited Bulgaria will have the chance to discover its history, culture, and people through one of the world's largest televised entertainment events.
Organizers also believe the competition's arrival in Bulgaria will deliver benefits that extend well beyond music. They point to the long-term impact such international events often have by boosting tourism, raising a country's global visibility, and encouraging visitors to explore destinations they may not have previously considered.
