Bulgaria has officially begun preparations to host Eurovision 2027, with the government confirming that an organizing structure will be established this week following DARA’s victory at the 70th edition of the contest in Vienna.

Minister of Culture Evtim Miloshev said the Council of Ministers will set up a dedicated body responsible for coordinating the event, including venue selection, security planning, logistics, marketing and overall management. “This week, the Council of Ministers will create an organization for Bulgaria’s hosting of Eurovision,” he stated, adding that preparations are being launched immediately after the country’s win.

He expressed confidence that Bulgaria can deliver an event comparable to previous hosts, stressing that the ambition is to match the standards seen in Austria. “I have a lot of inner confidence that Bulgaria will do a very good job of organizing the contest,” Miloshev said. “The Bulgarian hosting will be at the level of the Austrian one.”

According to the minister, the country’s transition from participant to host marks a significant cultural moment. He described Eurovision as a major platform for international visibility, highlighting its role in promoting national culture. “Thanks to the success and talent of DARA, Bulgaria is turning from a spectator into a stage,” he said. “This is an authoritative platform for the visibility of Bulgarian culture and talent on the European stage.” He also emphasized that the project is not purely commercial, but a state-level commitment involving public institutions.
