Three persons, including former police personnel V. Ponnusamy, 61, of Periyakulam, and M. Nagarathinam, 42, of Dindigul, who were arrested in a kidnap and dacoity case, were detained under the Goondas Act.The detention order was served on the accused on Tuesday at Madurai Central Prison, where they are lodged. Another accused, M. Karuppiah, 46, of Uthamapalayam, was also detained under the Goondas Act.These accused had kidnapped a businessman posing as CBI officials in June and robbed him of ₹2.63 lakh and a gold chain after beating him up.
