Russia launched another large-scale overnight missile and drone attack on Kyiv, killing at least seven people and injuring 24, while causing widespread destruction, fires, and damage to residential buildings across several districts of the capital.
According to Ukrinform, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko and Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko reported this.
The air raid lasted 3 hours and 56 minutes, ending at 05:09 local time.
As rescue operations continued, the death toll steadily rose. Authorities first confirmed three fatalities before reporting five deaths at 05:15. By 05:20, emergency crews had recovered two more bodies from beneath the rubble, bringing the total number of people killed to seven. The number of injured also increased to 24.
The heaviest damage was reported in the Podilskyi district, where Russian strikes and falling debris ignited fires at four separate residential buildings. A partial collapse occurred in one apartment block, leaving residents trapped between the seventh and ninth floors. Rescue workers evacuated 15 people from the damaged building, including three women and six children rescued from the upper floors, while search operations for additional victims continued.
