Two college students were killed in two separate road accidents due to collisions near Tambaram on Saturday. A senior official of the Tambaram Police Commissionerate said Akash, 21, was a resident of Nagalkeni near Pallavaram, who had completed his college. On Saturday evening, Akash was riding a high-speed motorcycle, along with his friend, Farook, from Tambaram towards Nagalkeni. When he reached MIT flyover on GST Road, he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the concrete barricade. Akash died on the spot due to a head injury.On being alerted, the Chromepet traffic investigation police sent his body to the Tambaram Government Hospital. Farook, who was riding pillion, also sustained fractures, and has been admitted at the same hospital. In another incident, Nitish, 24, a native of Tiruvannamalai district, had completed his Agricultural Engineering degree at Bharat College while staying in a hostel near Selaiyur. He had received his diploma just three days ago and was planning to return to his hometown. However, on Saturday night, he met his friend Sevak, 24, who was a doctor. After dining together in a hotel near the college, they were returning to their room, when a motorcycle hit them while trying to overtake their two-wheeler.In the collision, Nitish’s vehicle crashed into a wall, killing him on the spot. His friend, Dr. Sevak, sustained a head injury and is battling for life at a private hospital.The Pallikaranai Traffic Investigation Police have filed a case and are investigating.
