Two houses were partially damaged due to rain in Udupi district during the 24 hours, ending at 8 a.m. on Saturday.The damaged residences were located at Vakwady and Kudnapura Kasba villages. Revenue Department officials estimated the total loss at ₹70,000.Udupi district recorded 29.7 mm of rainfall during the period. Hebri taluk recorded the highest rainfall of 35.1 mm, while Kapu taluk recorded the lowest at 13.1 mm.According to the Dakshina Kannada Disaster Management Authority, 84 Mescom electric poles were damaged in the district due to rain during the period. Power supply lines stretching 4.20 km and an electric transformer were also damaged.The district recorded 74.7 mm of rainfall during the period against the normal rainfall of 40.4 mm.Kadaba taluk recorded the maximum rainfall of 92.1 mm, while Mangaluru taluk recorded a minimum of 52.8 mm.From January to date, the district has recorded 785.7 mm of rainfall against the normal 1,338.7 mm, it said.
