Eight houses damaged due to rain in Udupi, DK

In all, eight houses were damaged by rain and wind in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts over a 24-hour period ending at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

Of them six houses were in Hebri taluk of Udupi district and two houses were in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada.

Dakshina Kannada recorded 67.3 mm of rainfall compared to the normal 38.5 mm for the period. Udupi district recorded 49.2 mm of rainfall during the period.

According to Dakshina Kannada Disaster Management Authority, 38 electricity poles of Mescom were damaged.

Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) said Amtadi Gram Panchayat, Bantwal Taluk in Dakshina Kannada recorded 121 mm rainfall in 24 hours.
