A man whose home was targeted in a fatal arson attack in northern Greece has been discharged from hospital, days after the blaze that killed his wife, according to reports Friday.

Panagiotis Nestoras was released Friday morning from Ippokrateio Hospital in Thessaloniki. He is the father of Afroditi Nestora, a local politician with the ruling New Democracy party.

The family’s home was set on fire early Wednesday during a series of arson attacks on property belonging to New Democracy officials. Nestoras’ wife, Vagia Nestora, suffered extensive burns and died a few hours later in hospital.

Authorities have not yet announced any arrests or identified suspects.

Speaking to reporters after his discharge, Nestoras condemned the attackers and described them as “criminals” driven by “sick minds,” while expressing hope they will be brought to justice.
