In a troubling incident that has stirred conversations around child safety, an Eerste River mob is being investigated following the murder of a suspect accused of raping a three-year-old girl.
The community allegedly killed the 42-year-old man on the spot.
Earlier in the day, at around 5:30pm, the girl was reported missing by her father.
The child’s mother had gone to work during the day, leaving the little girl in the care of her father, who took her with him to a shebeen where he began drinking alongside the man who would later be accused of assaulting her.
