A missing three year old girl was found half naked in Eersteriver

A missing three-year-old girl was found bleeding, with only a vest on and nothing covering her lower body, after community members allegedly caught a man sexually assaulting her in a bushy area behind a shack in Eersteriver.

The community then killed the man on the spot.

The child's mother had gone to work that day, leaving the little girl in the care of her father, who took her with him to a shebeen, where he began drinking alongside the man who would later be accused of assaulting her. He only realised the child was missing at around 17:30 and raised the alarm.

Community members then contacted Veranique "Benji" Williams, founder of the Faith and Hope Missing Persons Unit, who mobilised her team and was among the first to respond.
