The Gombe State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticised Governor Muhammadu Yahaya over the ongoing demolition of structures in the state, the alleged expulsion of Gombawa Motors from the Dankwambo Mega Motor Park and the conduct of the recently concluded local government council elections.

In a press statement dated Tuesday and signed by its Public Relations Officer, Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku, the opposition party described the actions of Governor Inuwa Yahaya and the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government as "immoral and a gross abuse of democratic principles and the Nigerian Constitution."

The PDP stated that the state government had been carrying out the demolition of public properties and structures "under the pretext that such structures have violated land management policies."

According to the party, the exercise has created friction between the governor and some affected residents.
