According to the opposition party, the combined value of the alleged support amounts to N315million.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State has criticised the Governor Muhammadu Yahaya-led state government over an alleged approval of N315million in support and the allocation of four plots of land to a Kano-based singer, saying the resources could have been better invested in critical sectors such as education.
In a statement issued by the party's State Publicity Secretary, Abdulkadir Ahmad Dukku, the PDP claimed it had received "credible information" indicating that the state government approved N115million for the purchase of a Toyota Coaster bus for the singer, alongside a cash grant of N200million.
According to the opposition party, the combined value of the alleged support amounts to N315million.
The PDP argued that the reported expenditure comes at a time when Gombe State is facing significant educational challenges, citing a figure of 787,619 out-of-school children.
