The District Session Court in Hosur sentenced four persons to double life term for murdering two migrant workers in a drunken brawl.The case pertained to the murder of Bijay Singh (28) and Brijesh (22), both hailing from Madhya Pradesh. The duo were living in Meenakshi Layout in Hosur and were engaged in construction jobs.In December 2020, Brijesh and Bijay Singh had got into a drunken brawn with persons running a pig rearing farm in the vicinity. The accused slammed the victims with an iron rod killing them on the spot. The Mathigiri police registered the case and arrested Pawan Kumar(22), Billappa(46), Majunath (24), Arul (23) and Murugan (44).Helming the trial, the district sessions court concluded that four of the five accused were guilty. Pawan Kumar, Billappa, Majunath and Arul were sentenced to double life term for the double murder. Murugan was discharged of the crime. The Sessions court also slapped a fine of ₹2,000 each.
