Two youths were awarded double life imprisonment for murdering a Scheduled Caste youth.According to prosecution, construction worker S. Pandiaraj, 25, of Shenbagaperi near Kovilpatti had enmity with Sathish, 26, of the same area. When Pandiaraj was working on his farm along with his mother on September 23, 2024, Sathish and his friend B. Madhan, 24, came to the farm. They asked Pandiaraj to come with them for ‘peace talks’.When the ‘peace talks’ were going on near the ‘kanmai’ near Shenbhagaperi, Sathish and Madhan hacked Pandiaraj, a Scheduled Caste youth, to death on the spot.Naalaattinpudur police arrested Sathish and Madhan.The Judicial Magistrate of Special Court for SC / ST Cases Vaseeth Kumar, on Tuesday awarded life imprisonment for murder and another life imprisonment for murdering an SC youth.
