Two persons were sentenced to life in prison, on Tuesday (July 28, 2026), for murdering their two relatives in a property dispute.

According to the police, on March 23, 2025, when Sakthivel (35), a resident of Sonapadi near Yercaud, a farmer and his wife Vasuki were travelling on a two-wheeler, a gang attacked and killed them. The Yercaud police registered a case and arrested their relatives C. Kanagaraj (32), C. Rajadurai (31), T. Ganesan (33) and T. Chandran (32) and remanded them in prison. Inquiries revealed that the gang killed the couple in a property dispute.

The case trial was held at the District Mahila Court, and during the course of the trial, Kanagaraj and Chandran died. On Tuesday, the Court found Rajadurai and Ganesan guilty and awarded life imprisonment and imposed ₹1,100 as fine.
