Police officers secure the area in Houghton following the shooting of suspended Major-General Feroz Khan.
Madlanga Commission is expected to announce on Wednesday whether Crime Intel. Head, Maj-Gen. Feroz Khan, will still testify after surviving a suspected assassination attempt that has cast uncertainty over the proceedings.
Commission spokesperson Jeremy Michaels confirmed the commission was assessing the situation following Sunday's shooting in Houghton, Johannesburg, which left Khan hospitalised with gunshot wounds.
According to preliminary reports, two unidentified gunmen travelling in a white Mercedes-Benz allegedly opened fire on Khan before speeding away.
Investigators recovered at least two spent bullet casings at the scene, while reports indicate Khan sustained injuries to his lower body.
