Suspended Deputy Head of Crime Intelligence Major-General Feroz Khan has been hospitalised after being shot in a suspected targeted attack in Houghton on Sunday night, just days before his appearance at the Madlanga Commission.
According to preliminary reports, two unidentified gunmen travelling in a white Mercedes-Benz opened fire on Khan before fleeing the scene as reported by IOL and echoed by anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee on X.
Investigators recovered at least two spent bullet casings, while reports indicate Khan suffered gunshot wounds to his lower body.
