Now that many technical hurdles have been overcome, both the federal government and expanding state coalitions are seeking to derisk projects and build strategic geological data banks to support a wider rollout of commercial operations. On the other side of the Atlantic, the European Commission is placing its finishing touches on a landmark geothermal policy plan that will similarly address financial risk and data gaps.
